Allina Medical Laboratories is a Twin Cities-based integrated multi-site laboratory that performs more than 8 million lab tests each year. It provides essential and specialized services to Allina inpatients, outpatients and clinic patients, as well as support and consultation to medical providers.

Responsibilities:

Perform test analysis, QC, equipment maintenance and troubleshooting in Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank and microbiology. Must be able to produce quality results, recognize and correct situations that compromise results. Demonstrate dependability, independence and use of technical and theoretical knowledge. Able to multitask and work as a generalist. Good attention to detail and able to exercise independent.


Qualifications:


Education:
CLT/CLS with AA or bachelor's degree. ASCP or NCA certified or eligible.



Experience:
Previous experience or training in a critical care hospital setting.



Skills:
Excellent customer and communication skills. Maintains confidential patient information. Attention to detail, able to prioritize, organize tasks and produce accurate laboratory results. Able to function as part of a laboratory team. Will crosstrain in multiple departments at Mercy and Unity Hospitals as needs demand.

NCA or ASCP required.


Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule


- Part time position (20 hours per week)
- Evening/Night shifts (3 pm - 11:30 pm and 11:30 pm - 8:00 am)
- Every other weekend and holiday rotation (evening or night shift to be determined by supervisor)

Provide lab services including venipuncture and processing special sendouts. Operate waived moderately complexity equipment to perform INR test. Waived testing including Urinalysis, pregnancy test, Rapid HIV, glucose, hemoglobin, HgbA1c, Rapid Strep following standard procedures and policies.


Qualifications:


Education:
High School Diploma/GED required. Graduate of a nationally accredited medical assistant program. CMA or RMA certification required.



Experience:
Work in lab and work with HIV+ populations. Enjoy doing lab venipuncture.



Skills:
Skills to interact with patients, take phone calls, follow protocols, follow lab protocol and work with EMR and Ultra. Able to stand and work in lab environment, provide clarity to patients about tests to be done and to take home for specimen collection. Explain universal precautions to patients.

Licensure/Certifications required. BLS, CMA or RMA.

- Full time position (40 hours per week)
- Day/Evening shifts
- Currently Lab hours are Monday and Thursday 8 am - 7 pm (rotate, not 8am to 7pm except when co-worker is absent and no float is scheduled); Tuesday and Wednesday 8:00 am - 5:45 pm; Friday 6:00 am - 3:30pm

Performing moderate or high complexity testing with or without phlebotomy. Collects specimens following appropriate collection procedures and processing of specimens. Perform tests authorized by the clinic lab mgr and follow all procedures for each test performed. Record and report each test following laboratory policy. Perform and document all needed instrument maintenance and perform and document all QC on each test system before patients are tested.


Qualifications:


Education/Experience :


- Graduate of an accredited MLT (CLT) or MT (CLS) program.
- New graduates must pass the ASCP and/or NCA board within 6 months of employment or A minimum of one year of formal documented lab training of CLA/MLA with 5 years experience or HEW Tech.

- Part time position (8 hours per week)
- Day/Evening shifts: 8:00am - 4:30pm, 4:00pm - 8:00pm
- No weekends
- Non-contract
