Approximately 1,600 corporate and administrative service employees work at offices within Midtown Exchange, site of the historic Sears retail complex at Chicago Avenue and E. Lake Street. This community landmark, adjacent to the campus of Allina's Abbott Northwestern Hospital, is the second largest building in Minnesota and includes offices, an internationally themed public market and residential units.<br/><br/><b>Responsibilities:</b><br/><br/>- The purpose of the Regional Community Engagement lead position is to support Allina's mission by leading efforts to engage Allina services and care settings within nine geographic regions to:<br/>- Prevent illness and improve the health of the communities Allina serves.<br/>- Demonstrate the community's benefit form Allina's tax-exempt status.<br/>- Foster a culture and reputation as a compassionate, trusted community partner known for health, wellness and excellent healthcare.<br/>- Strengthen Allina's brand and promote positive relationships between Allina and the community.<br/>- The Regional Community Engagement Lead will provide strategic planning and overall coordination of a comprehensive regional community engagement plan. In this role, the lead will build, grow and sustain internal and external relationships that create key partnerships between the community and all Allina care settings and services within a geographic region.<br/>- Primary Responsibilities:<br/>- Develop and ensure implementation of the local community engagement plan including:<br/>- Employee volunteerism in the community.<br/>- Community health improvement.<br/>- Community benefit reporting.<br/>- Local public policy and public affairs.<br/>- Charitable contributions and sponsorships.<br/>- Convene local community teams including representatives form Allina hospitals, clinics, and special / ambulatory care settings in the region, employees who live in the region, marketing communications, education / support groups, wellness, foundations, and human resources staff.<br/>- Engage the voice of the community through convening a local community council and other mechanisms that facilitate two-way communication.<br/>- Manage community benefit activities for Abbott Northwestern and Phillips Eye Institute to include the following:<br/>- Develop, coordinate and facilitate an integrated community benefit strategy with new and existing partners.<br/>- Work with others to ensure the community benefit strategy is comprehensive and meets teh needs of the organization and the community.<br/>- Conduct comprehensive community health needs assessment every 3 years.<br/>- Work with system office staff, local internal community engagement leadership team, community advisory council, and community partners tro design and implement community health improvement initiatives.<br/>- Ensure work is guided by ASACB principles.<br/>- Ensure quarterly community benefit reporting in CBISA.<br/>- Manage and coordinate local public affairs:<br/>- Ensure that Allina is accessible and responsive to local communities by acting as a primary point of contact / ambassador.<br/>- Coordinate outreach to key community organizations and initiatives.<br/>- Coordinate outreach and advocacy with local elected officials and key opinion leaders.<br/>- Coordinate presence at local events.<br/>- Support employee volunteerism:<br/>- Work closely with system office staff to coordinate and promote volunteerism opportunities in the community.<br/>- Encourage, support and recognize employees who volunteer in the community.<br/>- Collaborate with Marketing / Communications staff to develop and implement communications plan to share Allina's stories internally and with the community.<br/>- Faciliate the review and allocation of charitable contributions and sponsorships for the region.<br/><br/><br/><b>Qualifications:</b><br/><br/><br/>- Bachelor's degree in public health, public policy, health sciences, or related field.<br/>- Master's degree preferred.<br/>- 5+ years leadership experience in community relations, publice relations or community health improvement.<br/>- An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be considered.<br/>- Demonstrated ability to successfully plan, implement, and manage complex projects.<br/>- Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders in a complex, highly matrixed organization to achieve a common goal.<br/>- Outstanding written and oral presentation and meeting facilitation skills.<br/><br/><br/><b>Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule</b><br/><br/><br/>- 40 hours per week.<br/>- Day shifts.<br/><br/><b>Location/Community Information</b><br/><br/>Minneapolis boasts being both cosmopolitan yet small enough that you can find a place to call home whether on a lake, golf course, or in an adjoining suburb.
