This accountability includes supporting the following business units: Allina Medical Clinic, Allina Hospital Based Physicians, Metro and Regional Hospitals, and all Specialty Care providers including the Orthopedic Institute Surgery Center. The primary focus of this position will be to support Allina?s physician strategy and manage pay for performance and total cost of care initiatives with third party payers. Accountabilities include providing financial leadership on managed care revenue within the department, within the system office and the operating units. This includes, but is not limited to, prospective modeling of all payer agreements; concurrent financial analysis of all expected payments; monthly development and maintenance of managed care reserves and accruals; analysis of large datasets for capitated and risk sharing payer agreements including providing recommendations. This role requires a great deal of interaction and collaboration with financial personnel at the system office as well as within the operating units. This community landmark, adjacent to the campus of Allina's Abbott Northwestern Hospital, is the second largest building in Minnesota and includes offices, an internationally themed public market and residential units.<br/><br/><b>Responsibilities:</b><br/><br/>- The position of Hospital and Physician Services contract specialist is responsible for supporting Payer Relations & Contracting directors and contract managers in delivering the service components of all payer agreements held by Allina Hospitals & Clinics (metro hospitals, metro product lines such as behavioral health services, regional hospitals, hospital based clinics, Allina Medical Clinic, Allina Home Care, Hospital & Palliative Care, Allina Home Oxygen and Medical Equipment, and Allina Medical Transportation).<br/>- The position is accountable for establishing effective working systems consistent with the provisions of the agreements.  This requires obtaining a comprehensive understanding of contractual agreements, and regular interactions with staff from Payer Relations & Contracting, and various operating units with the organization.<br/>- Additionally, the position will support Payer Relations & Contracting directors and contract managers to maintain consistent, ongoing communications with the various payers (HMO, PPO, employer coalitions, county, etc.) and will effectively interact with these payers to assure high quality services between the Allina Healthy System and the payers.<br/><br/><br/><b>Qualifications:</b><br/><br/><br/>- College degree preferred or related experience required.<br/>- Minimum of 2-4 years in health care.<br/>- Ability to influence and manage payer and Hospital & Clinic expectations.<br/>- Ability to work independently including ability to manage/prioritize time and service needs.<br/>- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills are essential.<br/>- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential.
